During his further training years, John worked across a number of Hospitals in Victoria including the Royal Melbourne, Alfred, Epworth and Ballarat Base Hospitals. Following this, John completed his fellowship of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Surgical Arrhythmia’s, which included fifteen months at the Barnes Hospital, Washington University Medical Centre in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr Goldblatt is on the Royal Melbourne Hospital Heart Team for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedures and is a proctor for the Edwards Lifesciences Transapical TAVI. He also has an active role in teaching registrars and residents including individual tutorials and skills sessions, as well as student teaching at the University of Melbourne.
Mr Goldblatt has contributed his knowledge and experience to various publications, presentations and research. His special interest areas include clinical research in all areas of adult cardiac surgery, ATS valve, off-pump coronary surgery, cardiac surgery and octogenarians, rapid deployment aortic valve and minimally invasive AVR via right anterior thoracotomy.
