He is passionate about achieving excellent patient outcomes, clinical research and medical innovation.

Dr Chacko currently consults at the St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Ipswich Hospital, and St Andrew’s Ipswich Hospital. He is available in private practice at CardioVascular Clinics (CVC) in Spring Hill, Brisbane and St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital.

After completing his medical degree from the James Cook University with Honours, Yohan completed his physician and specialty training at the Princess Alexandra and Nambour General Hospitals. In 2017, Dr Chacko commenced his interventional and structural cardiology fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital followed by a year at the acclaimed Stanford University Hospital in California, USA.

During Yohan’s time at Stanford University, he undertook research into minimally invasive therapies and advanced coronary physiology. He continues to contribute to research in various publications and presentations, both internationally and nationally. His most recent research project with the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Stanford University focusing on outcomes in patients with prior mediastinal radiation post-TAVI versus SAVR treatment.

Additionally, Dr Chacko is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has held numerous past leadership roles including the Chair of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Queensland Trainees’ Committee, Deputy Chair of the Australian Medical Association Queensland Council of Residents and Registrars, and President of the James Cook University Medical Student Society.
