Dr Umair Hayat is an interventional and structural heart cardiologist based in Tasmania, Australia. He currently consults at the Launceston Health Hub providing a variety of general and interventional cardiology care for Launceston and the North West of Tasmania.

After completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Dr Hayat completed advanced cardiology training in NSW and an interventional fellowship in Melbourne. Followed by a TAVI fellowship at NHS England – a busy public national healthcare body in England.

Dr Hayat completed his Doctorate from the University of Melbourne for research in Coronary OCT and CFD studies. He continues to contribute to research having assisted in over 30 publications. He has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
