He completed basic physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and advanced cardiology training at Monash Heart. Following this, he completed a year of research on endothelial dysfunction and novel markers of cardiac disease at the Austin Hospital after he was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) after completing an Echocardiography Fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
