Professor Gregory Scalia is a Consultant Cardiologist based in Queensland. He has expertise in non-invasive cardiac imaging, invasive cardiac imaging (TOE), and echocardiography such as transesophageal echocardiography.

He primarily consults at The Wesley Hospital and regularly visits St Stephen’s Hospital in Hervey Bay. He is also the Director of Echocardiography at The Prince Charles Hospital and Professor of Medicine at the University of Queensland. He works with GenesisCare (formerly known as HeartCare Partners) and was one of the first Echocardiologists to join this practice.

Gregory completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and was awarded a Gold Medal for his outstanding academic record. He completed a two-year Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, USA. He also completed a Master of Medical Science from the University of Queensland and has been awarded fellowships in the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Professor Scalia has significantly contributed to research in the field of echocardiography, publishing over 300 papers, abstracts and book chapters. He has lectured and taught across the United States, South East Asia and Australia.
