Dr Azima was born in the UK and graduated from the University of Leicester in 2007. She is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of GPs and has been a GP in Brisbane South for over 10 years. She is highly experienced and has worked in various different specialties such as diabetes, paediatrics and emergency medicine.
Azima is further specialised in women’s health achieving Diplomas of both Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DRCOG) and of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (DFRSH). She is a Mater aligned maternity shared care GP, offering a range of fertility and family planning services e.g. insertion/removal of IUDs and contraceptive implants. She also performs skin cancer checks and excisions, having completed Certificates in Skin Cancer Medicine and Dermoscopy with the skin cancer college of Australasia.
Azima works part-time as a HealthPathways clinical editor at Brisbane South PHN, writing clinical decision support tools for local GPs, reflecting her philosophy of providing high quality, current and holistic care to patients.
Her other areas of interest include care of the elderly, managing complex and chronic health conditions, child health and performing minor surgery.
Outside of medicine, Azima is a busy mum of 3 who enjoys spending time with her family.
