Interventional Cardiologist in VIC

Dr David Tong is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with a special interest in coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease and cardiovascular risk assessment. He has also completed further training and is accredited to read CT Coronary Angiograms.

Dr David Tong is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with a special interest in coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease and cardiovascular risk assessment. He has also completed further training and is accredited to read CT Coronary Angiograms.

Dr Tong currently holds an in-patient and ambulatory care role at Knox Private Hospital as well as roles at Eastern Health and St Vincent’s Hospital.

After completing his medical studies at the University of Melbourne, Dr Tong completed advanced cardiology training in Melbourne at Eastern Health, Monash Health, and Peninsula Health. After his training, David completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne focusing on the role of inflammation in coronary artery disease, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Newcastle and Freeman Hospital in England, UK.

Dr Tong regularly contributes his knowledge and experience to research and has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences both internationally and locally.
