Dr David Burgess is a Consultant Cardiologist with special interests in preventive cardiology, minimally invasive angioplasty, complex angioplasty and stenting, and a holistic approach to cardiology care.

Dr David Burgess is a Consultant Cardiologist with special interests in preventive cardiology, minimally invasive angioplasty, complex angioplasty and stenting, and a holistic approach to cardiology care.

Dr Burgess is currently the Head of Cardiology, Director of Interventional Services and Director of Cardiology Training at the Blacktown Hospital. He is also a Visiting Medical Officer at the Norwest Private Hospital and sees patients at the Specialist Services centres in Norwest Medical Centre and Grafton Street, Blacktown.

Dr Burgess completed his cardiology specialty training at the Royal North Shore and John Hunter Hospitals and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

He was awarded a Cardiac Society Research scholarship and commenced PhD studies at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre focusing on improving outcomes for patients undergoing complex cardiology procedures. Upon the completion of his PhD and Masters in Public Health from Sydney University, he began a clinical role at the Westmead Hospital to complete a Postgraduate fellowship in coronary artery intervention.

Dr Burgess currently holds a role with Western Sydney University as a Senior Lecturer primarily teaching cardiology.
