Associate Professor Michael Nguyen is an Interventional Cardiologist with expertise in carotid stenting, percutaneous coronary intervention, and a range of advanced invasive treatments such as alcohol septal ablation, left atrial appendage occlusion, and ASD/PFO closure.

After his specialty cardiology training in Victoria at the University of Melbourne, A/Prof Nguyen completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular therapy at the esteemed Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.

A/Prof Nguyen currently consults at the Fiona Stanley Hospital, where he is also the Director of Clinical Trials and Research. He is the Founder of Access Cardiology, a private cardiology practice in Nedlands.

Outside of his clinical roles, A/Prof Nguyen works as an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia and has an academic appointment with the University of Notre Dame School of Medicine. A passionate teacher, A/Prof Nguyen is a mentor to many cardiology trainees and junior doctors and was awarded the Clinician of the Year in 2012.

He frequently speaks at conferences in the Asia-Pacific region and values the opportunity to educate patients and general practitioners on the latest cardiology innovations and treatment pathways.
