Associate Professor Atifur Rahman is a Clinical Director of the Coronary Care Unit and Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Gold Coast University Hospital. He has experience in all aspects of interventional cardiology, management of hypertension, pacemaker implantation, and echocardiography such as transesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiogram.

A/Prof Rahman is an Associate Professor at Griffith University School of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Science and Medicine at Bond University. He also practices privately at the Gold Coast Heart & Specialist Centre.

Atifur completed his basic physician and advanced cardiology training at the Canberra Hospital. He trained at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and later worked at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.

Outside of his clinical roles, he also holds roles with the Annals of Medicine and European Journal of Clinical Investigation as a Reviewer and as a Regional Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and Examiner for the Australian Medical Council (AMC).
