We strive to offer world class equipment and offer the latest in, robotic surgery with both the Da Vinci robot for cardiac, urology, general, gynaecology and ENT surgery and the MAKO robot for orthopaedic surgery. We also offer 3D surgical technology , computer assisted surgery, a state of the art cardiac catheter lab including Australia’s first MedInBox educational technology, cutting edge hybrid theatres and world class radiology and diagnostic services.
North Shore Private, a Sydney University teaching hospital, is involved in some of the world’s most innovative research programs. This includes the ICHOM low back pain initiative – a joint initiative with Harvard and The Boston Children’s Hospital – which tracks patients with low back pain up to five years.
Since our beginning in 1998 our team have delivered the vision of our founder Paul Ramsay. The Ramsay Health slogan “People Caring for People” is synonymous with the way we operate our business. We recognise that we operate in an industry where “care” is not just a value statement, but a critical part of the way we must go about our daily interactions in order to meet the expectations of our customers, our patients and our staff. Our staff pride themselves on the Ramsay Way values and have a caring, progressive, and positive spirit in their attitude to their work and patients.
We feel privileged to have being trusted to provide your hospital care and we hope you trust us with your hospital care. We love what we do and look forward to delivering excellent care and facilities.

Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a treatment for patients with severe aortic stenosis who would otherwise be deemed at high risk for surgical aortic valve replacement (AVR). The TAVI procedure is minimally invasive and so allows patients to recover post operatively more quickly. Following TAVI, patients are generally admitted to our coronary care unit, are able to mobilise the same day of surgery, experience minimal pain and have a short length of stay in hospital.
North Shore Private Hospital is one of only a few private hospitals that are accredited to offer this procedure and have the experience of over 200 TAVI procedures.
North Shore Private Hospital’s Structural Heart Team have been performing TAVI procedures since 2013 at North Shore Private Hospital. Once identified as a potential TAVI patient, a patient usually comes into hospital for a few days to conduct pre-operative tests. Our Multidisciplinary Structural Heart Team then meet to determine the best treatment for the patient.
Referrals for potential TAVI patients can be made to our interventional cardiologists or cardiothoracic surgeons, or call our Structural Heart Co-Ordinator on (02) 8425 3006 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. They will then make the necessary assessments and organise the TAVI workup process if appropriate.
