About the Hospital

Located on the leafy grounds of Macquarie University, we are conveniently situated at the heart of a large integrated medical precinct. As well as featuring the most innovative technology, our stunning facility incorporates the very latest in design principles as we recognise the therapeutic role the healthcare environment plays for our patients, visitors and staff.

Macquarie University Hospital’s TAVI team is unique in NSW with every procedure being attended by an interventional cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeon. This provides a high level of care and expertise to perform the procedure safely. The procedure is performed in our state-of-the-art hybrid operating/angiography suite. TAVI patients are cared for post-operatively in our outstanding ICU by specialised cardiac nurses and other support staff.

Macquarie University Hospital is Australia’s first private not for profit teaching hospital on a university campus. Modelled on leading international university hospitals, our approach to treatment is based on combining the best available knowledge, expertise and technology to ensure our patients receive a comprehensive and integrated service, as well as the utmost compassion, support and care.

The hospital is part of Macquarie University Health Sciences Centre (MQ Health), Australia’s first fully integrated academic health sciences centre under a university’s leadership. Bringing together this state of the art hospital and the university’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, MQ Health aims to improve the lives of patients we treat, as well as the broader community we serve by integrating world-class research, clinical care and education.
