Dr William Parsonage is an Imaging Cardiologist and Associate at Queensland Cardiovascular Group, Senior Staff Cardiologist at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and a Visiting Imaging Cardiologist at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, North Lakes Specialist Centre, and Elysian Medical Centre. Dr Parsonage has a special interest in general cardiology, cardiac ultrasound, echocardiography, and heart disease in pregnancy.
William completed his medical degree at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, where he also completed advanced cardiology training and a clinical research fellowship. He was awarded a postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine for his research into patients with chronic heart failure during his time in the UK. Following this, he completed further cardiology training in Australia at The Prince Charles Hosptial as well as clinical fellowships with the Queensland Heart Failure and Transplant Unit and Echocardiography departments.
Dr Parsonage was integral in the establishment of a dedicated multidisciplinary clinic for the management of heart disease in pregnancy at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He greatly contributes to research and education outside of his clinical responsibilities, including presentations of research in publications and book chapters. He is a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, where he was previously Chairman and Secretary between 2005 to 2011.
