Dr Mutha completed his medical degree and subsequent training at Monash Health. Following this, he completed advanced cardiology training at Northern Health, Austin Health and Ballarat Health. He went onto complete further training in complex electrophysiology and device implantation during a two-year fellowship with Monash Health.

A keen educator, Dr Mutha held an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Melbourne for eight years and has contributed his knowledge to a number of peer-reviewed publications.
