Dr Vivek Gupta is an Interventional Cardiologist located in Victoria, currently consulting at Peninsula Private Hospital, Beleura Private Hospital, and is in private practice at Peninsula Heart Centre.

He has a special interest in coronary angiography (predominantly performed radially), hemodynamic and anatomical assessment of questionable coronary lesions using fractional flow reserve (FFR), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and optical coherence tomography (OCT), rotational atherectomy and debulking of heavily calcified lesions.

Dr Gupta completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in India and completed a Masters of Public Health at Deakin University in Geelong, Victoria.

He undertook basic physician training at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne’s northeast. Followed by specialty cardiology training in Launceston, before completing a Cardiology Fellowship at the esteemed Monash Medical Centre.

Dr Gupta has also gained experience in the TAVI procedure for the treatment of aortic stenosis as a secondary operator at Monash Medical Centre and is also completing further training in performing the Watchman left atrial appendage closure procedure under the guidance of his colleague Dr Greg Szto.

He continues to dedicate his time and expertise to research and works as a sub-investigator in several clinical trials.
