Terry completed his degree at the University of Queensland in 1980. He completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) at the Royal Perth Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre and Queen Elizabeth Hospital (South Australia), and Westmead Hospital (Sydney). Dr Mau completed his post fellowship training as a Senior Registrar at the Wessex Regional Cardiothoracic Centre, Southampton, UK.
Dr Mau is a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Australasian College of Surgeons.
He commenced practice at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in 1994.
