Dr Michael Chi Yuan Nam is a Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist located in Queensland. He has a specialised in all aspects of heart rhythm disorders, including Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation, and cardiac device implantation such as pacemakers and defibrillators.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr Nam completed his medical studies at Cardiff University and further cardiology training in Hampshire. In 2015, he came to Australia and was the first PhD research fellow at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, when he was conducting a project on the vasodilatory effects of insulin on the heart. It was this work that earned him a finalist position at the American Society of Echocardiology, Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology, and the Royal Society of Medicine Young Investigator awards.

In 2020, he completed further specialty training in electrophysiology with the esteemed Professor Jon Kalman at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Dr Nam made his way back to the Sunshine Coast, where he operates privately at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and is in private practice at Heart HQ. He is heavily involved in research projects with the University of the Sunshine Coast. Outside of his clinical roles, Dr Nam enjoys life with his family, travelling and cooking.
