Dr Leighton Kearney is a Cardiologist and Imaging Specialist located in Victoria with clinical appointments at the Warringal Private Hospital. He is also the Director of Heart Failure Clinical Services with Genesis HeartCare Cardiovascular Research.
Leighton completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania where he received first-class honours and was awarded the University Medal for Academic Excellence. Following this, Leighton completed Fellowships in both Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging and Cardiac MRI at the Austin Hospital (Australia) and Royal Brompton Hospital (United Kingdom).
Dr Kearney completed a PhD investigating valvular heart disease and techniques for detecting myocardial dysfunction, research that led him to be awarded International Young Investigator Award at the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiology. He continues to contribute to research through publications and presentations internationally and domestically.
