Dr Kuhendra Balakrishnan (Bala) is a dual-trained Consultant Cardiologist, General Physician and Cardiac Imaging Specialist. He has broad experience with managing a number of adult cardiac conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease.

Kuhendra completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne. He completed advanced training in both cardiology and general medicine at Austin Health (Victoria) and Launceston General Hospital (Tasmania).

He was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and went on to complete further specialty training in non-invasive cardiac imaging through a fellowship at Monash Heart. During this time, Kuhendra gained experience in all aspects of echocardiography and cardiac CT.

The combination of Dr Balakrishnan’s dual-trained expertise enables him to provide comprehensive treatment plans for his cardiac patients in relation to their potential other medical conditions.
