Biography

Dr Kavitha Muthiah is a Heart Failure Cardiologist located at the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney. She has specialised in advanced heart failure, transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.

Kavitha graduated from the University of Auckland in New Zeland and completed advanced cardiology training and PhD studies at the St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and University of New South Wales.

Following her studies and training, Kavitha completed a fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant, before moving to the UK to complete a Fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the St Bartholomew’s Hospital. In 2014, Kavitha completed a third fellowship at King’s College Hospital London in Advanced Echocardiography.

Dr Muthiah is also currently completing a Heart Foundation Postdoctoral Research Scholarship with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, focusing on Personalising Antiplatelet Therapy in Left Ventricular Assist Device Supported Patients.
