Dr John Younger is a visiting cardiologist at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital and has a special interest in cardiac imaging.

He completed his fellowship training in cardiac MRI at the British Heart Foundation Cardiac MRI Unit at Leeds University in the UK and underwent cardiac CT training in Erlangen, Germany.

In conjunction with the Department of Medical Imaging, he has established both the cardiac CT and the cardiac MRI services at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Other interests include stress, trans-thoracic and trans-oesophageal echocardiography.

He has acted as the scientific program coordinator for the Gold Coast Cardiac Imaging Symposium between 2008 and 2010, and initiated a successful cardiac CT training course for radiographers. He maintains an active research interest and has published in the BMJ, the Lancet and Heart.
