Dr Jason Sharp is an Interventional Cardiologist located at the Sydney Adventist Hospital where he is director of the cardiac catheterisation laboratories. He is also the Principal of Specialist Cardiology, a private practice located at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Dr Sharp has a special interest in complex coronary interventions including coronary angiograms, coronary angioplasty and stenting, rotablator as well as structural heart procedures including atrial septal defect closure, patent foramen ovale closure, Mitraclip, and left atrial appendage occlusion with Watchman and Amulet devices. He also regularly performs aortic valve procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) and cardiac imaging procedures such as transoesophageal, resting and stress transthoracic echocardiography.

Jason completed his degree at the University of Sydney and his basic physician and advanced cardiology training at the Royal North Shore Hospital. Following this, he completed an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

Dr Sharp is a Tutor at the University of Sydney and active participant in the Open Heart International volunteer outreach program in Myanmar (Burma) and Papua New Guinea which helps train local Cardiologists. He frequently contributes his experience and knowledge to research publications and presentations, regularly attends international cardiac conferences, and has held numerous leadership roles including his previous appointments as the Head of Cardiology at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee.
