Biography

Dr James Cameron is the Managing Director of the Queensland Cardiovascular Group and holds special clinical interests in coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting, patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defect closure.

Dr Cameron graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland Medical School. Following the completion of his postgraduate training, he undertook a two year clinical and research training Fellowship in the United States, attending both New England Medicine Centre in Boston, and Stanford University Medical Centre in Palo Alto, California. Dr Cameron has been awarded Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Cameron is an active member of the Wesley Research Institute, formerly St Andrew’s Medical Institute. He is past President of Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and is Chair of Australasian Cardiac Outcomes Registry. His research interests include statistical process control methods in assessing cardiovascular procedural outcomes.

Under Dr Cameron’s direction, QCG has become a well-recognised and respected practice.
