Dr Glenn McKay is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon located in Canberra, ACT. He currently consults at the National Capital Private Hospital, Canberra Hospital, and Canberra Vascular Surgery.

Dr McKay completed his Bachelor of Science followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Throughout this time he received a number of undergraduate academic awards including the BM Colls Prize, McGraw Hill Prize, Charles Hastings Memorial Medal, and JM Watt Prize to list a few.

Following this, Dr McKay trained across a number of New Zealand Hospitals before receiving his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

He completed two years of post-fellowship training in the USA at the University of Virginia, Emory Crawford Long Hospital and Emory University Hospital in Georgia focused on Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He returned to New Zealand and commenced practising as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Wellington at Capital and Coast CHB.

Dr McKay has contributed his international experience to research and publications and has been awarded numerous grants and scholarships to further his training.
