Echocardiologist in QLD

Dr Emma Ivens is a General Cardiologist with a subspecialty in Echocardiography. She has a special interest in stress testing, transthoracic, transoesophageal and stress echocardiography.

Dr Ivens currently consults at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside and is a member of Queensland Cardiology. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer at The Prince Charles Hospital.

She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Monash University with Honours and undertook advanced cardiology training at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Emma went on to pursue further specialty training through an Echocardiography Fellowship at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane followed by another Fellowship in Advanced Echocardiography at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada.

Dr Ivens has a research interest in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, valvular and pericardial heart disease. She has shared her findings extensively through peer-reviewed journals and is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
