Dr Emily Kotschet is a Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist located in Melbourne, Victoria. She has a special interest in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and inherited arrhythmias, and heart failure.

Dr Kotschet completed her cardiology specialty training at the Alfred and Monash Heart before completing a three-year electrophysiology fellowship, spending two of those three years in Canada. Upon her return to Australia, Dr Kotschet established an AF Ablation program at Monash Heart including Australia’s first nurse led AF clinic and a cardiac genetics service. She has also introduced a number of new pacemakers and defibrillator devices to Australia, including the Micra leadless pacemaker and subcutaneous ICDs.

Dr Kotschet regularly performs catheter ablation for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias, and device implantation such as pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation devices, and subcutaneous devices. She also has an interest in paediatric electrophysiology and managing children with arrhythmias.

Dr Kotschet currently works at Holmesglen Private Hospital, Cabrini Malvern, Mulgrave Private Hospital and St John of God in Berwick. She works in private practice at Melbourne Heart Care and also regularly provides cardiac services in Alexandra and Morwell in rural Victoria.

Outside of her clinical work, Dr Kotschet enjoys spending time with her family and running marathons across the globe!
