Chris is a graduate from the University of Queensland and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has been providing care to people in this community for over 30 years. She has always had a strong commitment to ongoing education with the aim to bring together both experience and latest medical knowledge to the care she provides. Chris has developed strong links over the years with a broad range of excellent specialists and allied health providers to better be able to link you with the best care for you and your family.
Chris aims not only to deal with the needs or concerns you have today but also to look at how to help you stay as healthy as possible throughout your life with a strong focus on prevention and wellness. She is a firm advocate of healthy ageing and working to maintain independence for people of all ages, starting with providing care and support for young families.
Her special interests include paediatrics, mental health, disease prevention and management for men and women of all ages, and skin cancer.
Chris became frustrated by the gaps of care available to many people in the community early in her career and for many years worked at local, state and national levels to improve services to this community and communities across the country including rural and remote areas. Mental health services have been a key focus of her work but she has always strongly argued that health care should be based around the person themselves as a whole and not fragment care into mental and physical care. She has served on boards and ministerial advisory groups at state and national levels and presented at local, state and international conferences on improving services to communities.
