Interventional Cardiologist; Senior Lecturer in QLD

Dr Akshay Mishra is an Interventional Cardiologist with experience in primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, percutaneous interventions such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), complex coronary and peripheral interventions, and carotid stenting. Dr Akshay Mishra is an Interventional Cardiologist with experience in primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, percutaneous interventions such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), complex coronary and peripheral interventions, and carotid stenting. As well as, CT coronary angiography and other diagnostic cardiology modalities for coronary and structural heart disease.

Akshay completed his medical degree at the Armed Forces College in India and served in the Indian Army for 10 years before moving to Australia. He completed his advanced cardiology training in Queensland at the Gold Coast and Prince Charles Hospitals and was awarded his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

He would later move to the USA to complete further training through an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Lennox Hill Hospital.

Dr Mishra currently consults at the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, North Brisbane Cardiology, and North West Private Hospital. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
