A/Prof Strathmore has a vast interest in general and clinical cardiology, particularly in treating arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, bradycardias. He is experienced in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, management and extraction. For many years, he was the only accredited specialist in Victoria able to extract infected or faulty pacemakers and is referred patients from Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia for this procedure.

He is a Fellow and the current Chairman of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Committee on Lead Extraction. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Heart Rhythm Society, and Melbourne Medical School Academy of Clinical Teachers.

Neil is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and has been awarded and recognised for his dedication to his teaching commitments.
